Caspers Wilderness Park Southern Orange County
Located 7.6 miles east of San Juan Capistrano, on Ortega
Highway (Highway 74) The park is 7600 acres in size with many trails
My favorite trail is the Oak trail. The Oak Trail
meanders past California sycamores as well as aged coast live oaks.
My second favorite and a bit longer is to head south to
the group camp area and then head north on the Juaneno trail when you get to
the bridge at Hwy 74 there is water and you can return on the san Juan river trail. The day use area has a small fenced pasture and 6-8 corrals. The
camp site area has about 22 equestrian camping sites with about 35 corrals.
The Oak Trail meanders past California sycamores as well
as aged coast live oaks. Well worth a day trip or camping with your horses
